Fallout boy - new single - a bit too serious!.

So fallout boy return with there new single "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)" after hiatus. The song is the first single off there up coming album "save rock and roll", which is a pretty lofty mission statement as a pop punk band who's last album Folie à Deux sold substantially less records than its predecessor. Compared to previous efforts the new single showcases a more serious and slightly darker sound, if not slightly like a mix between the Backstreet boys and MJ's Dirty Diana. With a voice like Patrick stumps it's probably hard not to sound slightly like a boy band, and not in a bad way, after all he arguably has one of the finest voices in modern rock in terms of vocal talent, but then isn't that the kinda voice every producer wants to work with or towards?. If this is a sign of things to come then im interested in seeing what the albums like, if not a little sad they have retired there clown suits. The song at first glance seems a little unremarkable however there is a definite hook, and as bland as the song is i was still singing "light em up up up" in my head as i made a cup of tea. So check it out it might be a grower.
